Also known as the City of Pearls, Hyderabad was home to the Nizams and served as the capital of the Mughal dynasty. It has a number of monuments to this era of Indian history, include the famous exhibit of the Jewels of the Nizams. Surviving architecture from this era and from later eras in the city colorful history provide some of the beauty and charm of Hyderabad.
Anyone visiting the city wil be struck by mixture of ancient charm and moden development. With a growing IT, software, and biotechnology industry, Hyderabad has all the conveniences of any global city. Visitors may also want to tour the Qutb Shahi Tombs, the Falaknuma Palace or the Nizam’s Museum. Be sure to take a trip to Hussain Sagar (a man-made lake) to see the famous Buddha Statue that appears to rise out of the lake.
