Goldman Rounds Out the Year with Record Increases
Despite all the turmoil in the financial markets, Goldman Sachs topped fourth-quarter estimates. Net income increased 2%, and EPS rose 6%, while profits for the year rose a full 21%. Their success is attributed to increased client activity, strong commodity results, and the sale of a majority interest in 14 power generation facilities that netted $800 million.
